Louis Vuitton Returns Home: Store Opened At Place Vendôme

“After four years of renovation, Louis Vuitton marked a grandiose return to where its story began over 160 years ago. They finally opened the doors of Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme, a new treasure set in the most storied Parisian squares.”

Place Vendôme and its neighbourhood have been widely known for being the vessel of travel goods, fashion, and jewellery for over 300 years, and it was in these streets that Louis Vuitton learned his craft – it was where he founded his first store in 1854.

When the new store opens its doors on October 4th, 2017, it will reunite Place Vendôme and the maison’s traditional metiers. The entire Louis Vuitton couture, ready-to-wear, jewellery, fragrances, leather goods, watchmaking, shoes, accessories, and artisanal workshops will be brought together, all in one place.

The grand maison is created as a combination of two elegant Parisian townhouses – one that looks onto the famously octagonal Place Vendôme, and the other that runs along Faubourg St Honore – that have been restored to their original 18th-century glory, delightedly, with its newly designed interiors by architect Peter Marino.

It’s a space that reflects the evolution of a house, which began as a specialist luggage supplier to aristocrats, including the Empress Eugénie de Montijo. Although it may look super stunning, the intention of the space is not to overwhelm, but welcome. Marino stated that the place is especially intended to make the visitors feel at home. “On entering, one should feel excited and expectant, and on leaving, happy and uplifted,” he said.
